Testament Blues Reissues
Pete Welding's recording labors for Testament Records are not only both historically important and artistically valid but probably the most important reissues of the year. It's not that every album in this series is going to knock your socks off (although the Otis Spann set and the marvelous Como Mississippi Church grouping that features Fred McDowell are masterworks) but the sheer importance of documenting disappearing sub-genres and the inclusion of previously unreleased tunes should make these titles great building blocks for any blues collection.
