MTV Unplugged : CK 67000 (CD)
It's interesting to catch Dylan in a live gig when he's on a roll and the man was definitely in fine fettle when this deal went down. He's rearranged some of his classic tunes and found sidemen from that little pocket universe he has access to, the one where little known musicians wait for the chance of playing with the master; the same place he found Robbie Robertson, Scarlet Rivera and a host of other sterling virtuosi. The album features great covers of "Tombstone Blues", "Desolation Row" and "Dignity" with a near epic rendition of "With God On Our Side" closing the set out. MTV Unplugged is a marvelous summing up (albeit a necessarily short one given the limits of a one CD set) of a gigantic career. If you've ever cared about Dylan as an artist, then you should pick up on this album.plus s/h if applicable.
